Not My Choice

Only one life, will soon be past

It’s not what’s done for Christ that will last

But what’s done in obedience to Him,

Whether it makes sense to me or feels like His whim.

Giving my life to Him means He gets to choose

Where, when, how or if in life I get to win or lose.

It’s His decision if I’m a single sergeant in Royal Defence

Or a home schooling mum with a white picket fence.

Whether I’m rich, middling or poor

In LA, London or Lagos it’s all His call.

My choice is simply to follow Him and obey

With thankfulness for His plan for me this and every day.
